Hartbeespoort Dam – a popular hideaway for Joburgers
Hartbeespoort Dam (also known as Harties) is an arch type dam situated in the North West Province of South Africa. It lies in a valley to the south of the Magaliesberg mountain range and north of the Witwatersberg mountain range, about 35 kilometers west of Pretoria, 30 minutes far from Johannesbourg. The name of the dam means "pass of the hartebeest" (a species of antelope) in Afrikaans. (Lunch on the dam or on top of the mountain with cable car)

Monkeys bush baby sanctuary
You will be able to connect with primates and capuchin monkeys which are given a new lease on life at Bushbabies Monkey Sanctuary. Previously raised as household pets, or bred for the pet trade, monkeys are introduced to a wild world laden with waterfalls, lush vegetation, natural mountain springs and the chance to reside in as natural and environment as possible. Not only are tours highly informative, but it creates awareness toward the benefit of releasing primates into sanctuaries where you will enjoy the splendour of a natural environment to the fullest.

The Elephant Sanctuary has African elephants and offers an interactive elephant experience, elephant back riding and overnight accommodation. Guests are guided on foot through The Elephant Sanctuary. Guides will provide in-depth information and insight into African elephants. You will be introduced to the elephants in the forest area, and here you will be able to touch and interact with them. You will see the special relationship that the elephant handlers share with their elephants and become a part of it.
